esterni - design a city for all
We refigure and design any kind of space, we investigate the potential of places and give them a new meaning, thanks to the participation of local communities. Whether a working place, an education or free time facility, a square or an entire district, for us it's still a mainspring of social interaction and an opportunity for common growth.

Up! in the Garden
Is it raining gardens? esterni has created a new work of public design for vicolo Troni, a lane in the center of Imola. Look up! Up! in the Garden is part of Laboratorio Urbano Permanente, created to transform the image of vicolo Troni with a series of temporary installations suspended in the air.

Folly for a Flyover
In the gap between the east and westbound traffic of the A12 in London (UK), Folly for a Flyover will host a summer programme of events, workshops, performances, screenings and even boat trips to explore the surrounding waterways. The Folly has been hand-built by a team of locals in a month, using donated materials; the structure reminds of the red-brick houses of Hackney Wick. At the end of summer, the temporary building will be disassembled and the single elements will find new functions across the area.

Permanent Breakfast
Parking lots, parks, sidewalks, empty squares are perfect places where to have breakfast. Born on 1st May 1996, Permanent breakfast is an ongoing urban action in public spaces. Here there are the simple rules: one person creates a breakfast-event in a public space. The invited people (usually 4) commit themselves to organize another public breakfast with different friends in a different place as soon as possible, and so on and so forth. According to the snowball principle, there would be 1.6 million people publicly having breakfast no later than on the tenth day.
